If treated well, your wooden cutting board can last for a very long time. Caring for a wooden cutting board is is relatively straight forward.
Dry - Do not leave the board in water, wipe it off when it gets wet, and do not run it through the dishwasher.
Oil - Every couple of months oil your cutting board with mineral oil or a product sold as 'board butter' or 'board conditioner' It is essentially a mix of oil and wax. Keeping these products on your board helps to prevent premature aging of your board and helps block odors from absorbing into it.
